Having completed distribution of my second roast, and bagging the third now, packaging and roast are under constant evaluation. The first roast was balanced, with no qualities stealing the stage, but none particularly negative either. Of the coffee professionals who have offered feedback, those one would expect to suggest darker did so, those hat take their own roasts lighter suggested their preference as well. Cupping at Stumptown Annex
Not having visited the Stumptown Annex in months, it was time for a visit and cupping. Arriving early I passed the time sipping on a pour over of their El Salvador Kilimanjaro, a blend of Boubron and ESL28 varietals. In total it has three varietals, using three processing methods. After a long day at Coffee Fest, I wanted the full experience. So having seen a latte art throwdown and after-party posted on Barista Exchange I knew it was a must see. Serendipity Espresso and BJ’s Coffee
On August 26th I attended the grand opening of the Cartlandia food cart pod on SE 82nd. This pod is destined to be a “super pod” and a destination in its own right with room for 35 carts, on-site parking, brick-and-mortar restrooms, and space for a full pub.
