Hello and welcome to Civilian Coffee.

The mission of this site is to share insights and experiences in the coffee world from the view of one who is not a professional, but rather is more of a civilian.  From that perspective I intend to write profiles on cafes, their owners and baristas, roasters and their coffee, as well as other coffee related topics and businesses.  As you read through these articles, notes, and comments, please keep in mind that they are intended as profiles and not reviews.  The enormous variety of tastes and preferences that each grower, roaster, barista, and consumer brings means that no one way is right.  So I invite you to read along and hopefully enhance your own coffee experience.
