Clive Coffee

Clive Coffee, “Great coffee at home,” is in the business of making sure everyone can make the best coffee possible in their own kitchen.  Whether it be espresso, drip, or otherwise, with grinders, machines, and paraphernalia.  Even though much of their business is conducted online, their old showroom in Portland, on SE Washington, was beginning to feel cramped.  This past June Clive Coffee officially moved to 79 SE Taylor St, in the same building as Water Avenue Coffee and the American Barista and Coffee School (ABCS).

As Mark sees it, this new location allows plenty of room to grow, and it shows.  With their showroom up front, featuring more than a few home espresso machines warmed up and ready to try-before-you-buy, while warehouse and office space fill the back.  Their onsite photo studio makes those beautiful shots of their wares as simple as could be.  There is even room for teaching a few classes on preparing great coffee at home, because as it often seems, in the coffee world education is everything.

The showroom is currently staffed by Jennie who runs double duty teaching at ABCS, and Chris who until recently honed his craft as a barista at Spella’s downtown.  Then of course Mark keeps busy running the whole affair.  What this means for the everyday customer is a very knowledgeable team that can help you to hone in on that perfect cup or just pick-out a snazzy new machine.

As a final shot, the bell from the old showroom hangs over the new. Hopefully the same success will follow.
